 Personal Biography 

Jackie LaBarge is a very bright, intelligent, and unique young lady. She was born on December 29, 1988, is the only girl out of 3 brothers who she loves very much.  In 23 years she has accomplished many things academically and personally.

She started her college career at IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), undecided, was there for 2 years and in that time she joined a Sorority, Sigma Kappa and made Dean’s List every semester. Through EK she was involved in the community, volunteering and other Greek life activities. Taking classes in Hospitality is when she realized that she did not have to be trapped at a desk for 9 hours a day, but that there was fun to be had and interesting places and career paths that she could pursue. This led her to the path of Temple University. She knew she had to better her education and made the hard decision to leave her beloved school and friends.

She enrolled in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University where she remained on the Dean’s List and Academic Good Standings.  She also completed a marketing internship at Old City District. She was involved in reaching out to the stakeholders, residents, and business owners and had the opportunity to work on the rebrand of the OCD neighborhood.  She was constantly involved in the community of OCD where she was helping businesses get their name out using social media and highlighting the positive events going on in the neighborhood.

When she isn’t in class you can find her at the mall, with friends or working.   She has a real passion for working with individuals with mental
disabilities. Growing up with an older brother with Down syndrome introduced her to so many loving and special individuals. It takes a special type of person to work with these individuals and she has the love and patience for it.

She also has a job working the Front Desk at the Number 1 City Club in the Country, The Union League of Philadelphia. It has prepared her for her future career in tourism and hospitality management. At the club she has interacted with not only Philadelphia’s most respected officials and elite clientele but those of the country as well.

She is excited to graduate and is looking forward to a very bright future in casino or event management.
